ADORAÇÃO AO SANTÍSSIMO E CELEBRAÇÃO DA PALAVRA.

In 1918, specifically on December 8th, Father Manoel Firmino, returning from a trip to Italy, brought the image of Our Lady of Perpetual Help to the village, making her the patron saint of the community, with her official feast day on June 27th. The people received the new image with great joy, beginning their devotion to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The first priest to reside permanently in the city of Verdejante (PE) was Father Antônio Pizzuto, who probably arrived between May and June of the year 2000. On June 27th, 2011, the parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help was established in the square of the main church. On March 7th, 2017, the second parish priest, Father Clebe Pereira de Menezes, was installed.
