Activists from the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) have led mass demonstrations to demand the abolition of 12 reserved legislative seats allocated to non-resident Kashmiri refugees, arguing they allow Islamabad to manipulate the region's politics. "There are reports of severe police brutality in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, in which several people have been killed and many injured.
