Australian Bush Fire Emergency Dispatch Radio Traffic (Holsworthy Fire)

**For training purposes only** On April 14th 2018 a major bush fire burned throughout the Holsworthy Military Area. The fire burned through several thousand hectares of heavy timbered dense bushland, impacting onto numerous residential and commercial areas, including a major military instillation, the Holsworthy Army Barracks. These radio messages are from the Macarthur Rural Fire Service Fire Comm Channel and were broadcast live on the day of the incident. The messages in the video are not in real time and have been edited to remove dead air time gaps and as a result, the two hour period from 2:17pm to 4:17pm, has been shortened to just under one and a half hours. Radio terminology used in the video: Cat 1 - Heavy Tanker Cat 7 - Light Tanker Cat 9 - Light Striker Unit PC - Personnel Carrier Pump - 4WD Urban Pumper Bulkie - Bulk Water Carrier Groupie - Group Officer RART, Helitak and Fire Bird are helicopter callsigns.
