Failed armed robbery in Lae sees one dead
A member of a gang of 12 men was shot and killed by Lae police on the weekend during exchange of shots after an armed robbery at a phone shop at Top Town in Lae. This came after the gang hijacked a 15-seater bus with passengers on-board. They were dropped off at two mile with another group of gang members who held them as hostages. The gang at 2 mile released the hostages after they realised that police were there.
