Your support keeps this channel alive! 🚆 Today we're analyzing a classic Spanish railway unit in HO scale: the RENFE UT 600 / Series 436, reproduced by IBERTREN under reference 4602, in its characteristic blue and yellow livery from Era IV, corresponding to commuter and regional services in the 1980s. The UT 600 series, later renumbered as the 436 series after the adoption of the UIC numbering system, is part of the family of units popularly known as "Swiss" units, along with the UT 700 and UT 800. These units represented a significant step in the modernization of RENFE's electric services on 3,000 V DC electrified lines and marked a whole era in the Spanish railway landscape. In this video, we analyze the model from a technical and fidelity perspective, car by car, paying attention to its motor, power supply, charging ports, lighting, and construction solutions. We also provide a historical overview to properly place this unit in its real-world context. The unit shown is second-hand, owned by Emilio (Másfer Decoracions), and any differences from its original condition are noted in the video. 🔍 What will we see in the video? Presentation of the IBERTREN box and case Analysis of the motor car (AC version with skid-mounted power supply) Detail of the intermediate car Study of the trailer car with cab Current coupling between vehicles Technical characteristics of the model Historical context of the UT 600 / Series 436 General assessment of a now discontinued model 🛠️ Main data of the IBERTREN 4602 model H0 scale (1:87) RENFE UT 600 electric unit / Series 436 Era IV (1980s) Blue and yellow livery Composition (WMD motor car - WR intermediate car - WRc trailer car with cab) Five-pole motor with flywheel Single-bogie traction AC version with skid-mounted power supply Current couplings between cars White LED end lighting Red Made to European Standards for Modelling (NEM) 📚 A bit of history: The UT 600 series trains were designed for services with a higher density of stops, and over the years, many of these units were refurbished and adapted. The blue and yellow livery represented a significant visual change from the original green and silver, becoming an iconic image of RENFE commuter trains during Era IV. 📌 If you liked the video: 👍 Give it a thumbs up 🔔 Subscribe to the channel 💬 Leave a comment letting me know which other historic RENFE units you'd like to see in HO or N scale
