Cooking time 40 minutes Ingredients . Chicken . Pepper soup spice . Yam . Scotch bonnets . Onion . Seasoning cubes . Salt . Blended crayfish . Water . STEPS TO PREPARE OFE-NSALA ° Season chicken or beef with chopped onion, seasoning cubes and salt cook for 25 minutes depending on the quantity of the chicken or beef ° When chicken or beef is fully cooked, add blended Scotch bonnets & onions to the meat, add peeled yam and add water stir together & allow to cook for another 10 minutes ° Remove the yam & placed in a flat plate match with a yam or potato masher, mold into shape and throw into soup, this will help to thicken ofe-nsala soup. Alternatively you can also use garri to thicken soup, add little water with the garri mix together and pour into soup,this will do the job too. ° At this point taste soup if additional seasoning is needed, if needed add to your taste and allow soup to cook for at least 10 minutes, as the soup is cooking the yam will thicken soup to your desire, when you're satisfied with the thickness turn off the heat and your Ofe-Nsala is ready.
