Val Susa, cosa resta dopo il disastro

NEWS (Susa Valley). "These were terrible moments, all around us was smoke and advancing flames." These are some of the comments from residents of the villages of the Susa Valley affected by the fires. For approximately ten days, wind and flames gave no respite to rescuers, firefighters, and volunteers, including those against the TAV movement, such as interviewee Alice Capellino. The mayors of Venaus, Nilo Durbiano, and San Didero, Loredana Bellone, gave an account of these dramatic days, highlighting the inadequacy of a certain type of provincial rescue organization, the loss of approximately 40,000 hectares of forest, and the devastation of wildlife. They also advanced hypotheses for the future recovery of the land, which, in their opinion, has little to do with the use of compensation for the TAV proposed by Government Commissioner for the Turin-Lyon line, Paolo Foietta.
