Uskudar (Katibim): An Istanbul Romance Uskudar (Katiibim) is a well known Turkish song that has been performed all over the world. From the Arabic Ya Banat al Iskenderia, to the Greek Ήχασα μαντήλι, Από ξένο τόπο, to Eartha Kitt's 1948 American popular song version, Uskudar has been a favorite of musicians for many years. It was even the subject of the movie Whose is this song? Here is my band ANATOLIA's 1996 rendition of this classic song. It's hard to believe that this recording is already over 20 years old; it was a great band.
