Newcastle’s Ex Bega | SL01184

Cleanaway purchased a fresh new fleet of Elite 6 Dennis Eagles for the Bega Valley contract early last month. As a result of this Cleanaway ended up with a heap of reasonably good condition Accos on their hands. They sent around majority of the recyclers and one single pass across locations in New South Wales. Blacktown, Central Coast and Newcastle were all given a former Bega recycling units whilst Tamworth ended up with one of Bega’s many single passes for its rural duties. Newcastle now uses 1184 most days acting as a spare unit, replacing our old spare truck which was the Ex Narrabri truck. I caught up with this truck on two separate occasions to shoot some videos. Firstly on a Tuesday morning in the suburb of The Junction moving through the densely packed streets lined with bins. The second time was in the suburb of Hamilton North where this time it’s rolling down some tight laneways which can pose as a challenge to the operator. This truck has sinced has its signage stripped as you could imagine. It didn’t make much sense to be promoting a FOGO service when Newcastle doesnt provide one….yet.
