The biggest Christian country in the world is . . . China?

The Christian church has grown faster in China than in any other country in world history. Experts believe that China may already be the biggest Christian country in the world, and certainly will be by the end of this decade. The China government does officially license churches, and have established what are called the "Three Self Patriotic Movement Churches" across China. Almost all the growth, however, comes from small, unregistered "house churches". Believers meet in homes or offices, or in basements, or even outdoors or in public spaces such as coffee shops. When the group outgrows their location, they simply divide, and continue separately. The church growth here is evident, and people of faith are confidently taking on positions in business and industry, higher education, and in government.
