Drawing a realistic bird in pastels | Canson Mi-Teintes Velvet paper

I found some layering issues when previously trying out the new Canson Mi-Teintes Velvet paper. Achieving lighter pencil details had previously been difficult. The limitations on the layering meant that some pencil layers were just not possible. This is incredibly frustrating when aiming for a high level of realism but for this pastel drawing, I wanted to try a couple of different things to see if I could improve on the previous issues experienced during the Panda tutorial.
