DJI Avata 2 - The Cruise Ship (FPV -drone)

DISCLAIMER SAFETY It is not always easy to balance the importance of safety, and the point of the video…to make action-packed cinematic shots that people hopefully will watch. However, safety is ALWAYS first priority, and here is a list of my plan for safety in this video Both DJI Avata 2 and DJI Air 3S are C1-class drones, and according to Norwegian law, can be flown in “open category”, and in the A1 sub-category. (Link to the Norwegian CAA: https://www.luftfartstilsynet.no/en/d... ) I am a licensed drone-operator in the A1-category Area controlled in the Ninox-app prior to, and at the time of filming there were no restrictions in the area. All airtime checked in in the Nionx app, and acceptet. I had a spotter right next to me at all times.  The drones were in VLOS at all times. The drones were never directly behind the ship on the 90 degrees perpendicular to my position, maximising good signal retention at all times. Wind conditions were moderate, but well within acceptable  All equipment passed pre-flight checks, and were inspected for damage and charge-level before flight. The Avata 2`s break-button safety-feature was tested and found working.  FLIGHTS All Avata 2 flown in M-mode. The drones were never in any way straight above any persons, and all lines were planned for bail-out in case of equipment failure or a fly-away, as in compliance with the “never over crowds-rule” for all drones, and “never over ANY person”, specific for C1-class drones.  Remember, all clips on the Avata are shot using ultrawide-angle, so objects appear to be much closer than they really are.  HELICOPER-DISCLAIMER 1: (Air-ambulance)  The air-ambulance came in well below 120 meters, and because of the ship being right beside our position, it was difficult to spot them and hear them. My spotter saw them first, and alerted me. As shown in the clip, I immediately broke off the flightpath, and still had enough space to do a safe 180 degrees, and dropped my height, clearing both. There was never any danger, and the function, and importance, of having a spotter, was proven in this case. I choose to bank left, instead of right, to maintain visuals. This was during the FPV flight in M-mode, so there were no safety alerts from the equipment, but notifications came up on the RC2 controller which layed beside me on the ground.  The second clip of the air ambulance is from the Air 3S, caught on the 70mm tele-lens. At this time the drone is hovering two meters above me on the shore, and there is never a chance of impact. As required, the drone must always give way to manned aircraft.  The helicopter appeared to be on a training-exercise, and not responding to a medical emergency. HELICOPTER-DISCLAIMER 2: (Army-helicopters) This clip was filmed using the Air 3S and RC2, but there were no alerts from DJI and the controller at this time. The Bell-heliopters were very loud, so both myself and my spotter could hear them early, but they came in very low on the horizon, just passing the small hill. My action was to immediately bank right and retreat, but choose to keep them in view to predict flightpath. There was never any proximity, and since the clips are shot using the 70 mm tele-lens, the distance between aircrafts is much farther than it looks. However, in retrospect, I could have dropped more altitude, what do you think? Let me know in the comments.  As required, the drone must always give way to manned aircraft.  Hope you have found this disclaimer to let you know that safety is always the first priority, and that having a plan for safety actually works.  ABOUT SITE AND THE OBJECT.
