Nearer, my God, to Thee - Propior Deo (instrumental)

Nearer, my God, to Thee --- a 19th-century Christian hymn created by Sarah Flower Adams, which retells the story of Jacob's dream. It is a well known hymn, and it also contains 3 versions: Bethany (the American version and the most well known one); Horbury (the common British version); Propior Deo (the methodist British version and the one you hear on this video). This hymn was likely played during the sinking of the R.M.S. Titanic, as reported by several survivors in the lifeboats. However, some people doubt it was played based on a few survivors on-board who reportedly did not hear this hymn, instead these people suggest Songe d'Automne, based on Harold Bride's account (who was on-board and says he heard the waltz Autumn). There is a good chance both were played as the two last songs though, in some order. Also, unlike popular depiction, which shows the American version being played, one of the British versions of the hymn was most likely played during the sinking.
