Two men have been sentenced after a major City of London Police investigation uncovered a money laundering network linked to organised crime groups across the UK and overseas. Investigators say more than £14 million was laundered during a three-month period in 2020, while the wider network is believed to have moved over £190 million between May 2019 and June 2020. The operation was exposed through intelligence gathered from the EncroChat encrypted communications platform, leading to the seizure of more than £2.5 million in cash and gold.
