From jaw-dropping canyon views to centuries-old architecture carved straight into sandstone cliffs, this park is a must-visit for history lovers and adventure seekers alike. We spend the day discovering the iconic Chapin Mesa, home to some of the park’s most famous archaeological sites, including the awe-inspiring Spruce Tree House — one of the best-preserved cliff dwellings in North America. Walking these paths gives you a real sense of the ingenuity and resilience of the Ancestral Pueblo people who once thrived here. Beyond the cliff dwellings, we also explore the park’s early 20th-century administrative buildings, constructed shortly after Mesa Verde became a national park in 1906. These historic structures tell the story of how this cultural treasure was preserved for generations to come. But the adventure doesn’t stop there! After soaking in the history, we road trip over to the legendary Four Corners Monument — the only place in the United States where four states meet: Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, and Arizona.
