Charnock Richard CoE Church - and the surprises in the churchyard!

Christ Church, Charnock Richard, is a Grade II listed Church of England parish church located in the village of Charnock Richard, Lancashire. It serves as a central hub for the local community, hosting annual events like the Scarecrow Festival every September. The church was built between 1856 and 1860 by James Darlington, a local coal mine proprietor. It is noted for its historic tile work and a white marble memorial to Frances Darlington. The church is open during the week for quiet prayer and reflection. The bear was made for BearFest, a festival held a few years ago, and the bee and the spider were made for two individual Scarecrow Festivals. This flight includes the near miss at the tower too !
