Astrophotography Japan / AM5 Alt-Az Visual Astronomy (Episode 10)

Visual astronomy with the AM5 mount in ALT AZ mode (set-up instruction is described) is employed for tracking with the SVBony 80ED refractor. Target identification is driven by ASIAIR plate-solving and viewed through the Baader Morpheus eyepiece, which is compared to the Astronomics Paradigm ED eyepiece. A specially customized accessory-compatible OTA ring set for visual astronomy is described and discussed regarding its utility in the ALT AZ tracking configuration. Planetary images and scenes from the night-time viewing session at Kawawafuji Park in Yokohama (Japan) are provided.
