Dia de Muertos in Michoacan Mexico has been on our bucket list for years and this year 2022 it finally happened! We visited the island of Janitzio, and the cities of Patzcuaro & Morelia to experience the Dia de Muertos celebrations. Dia de Muertos in Michoacan is also known as "Noche de Muertos" o "Noche de las Ánimas" because the most sacred part of the tradition occurs during the late of night November 1st into the early morning of November 2nd. The Purepecha community is known around the world for their Dia de Muertos celebrations in Michoacan and we are lucky to have been able to witness it. The experience came with all kinds of emotions, both happy and infuriating ones. But let's focus on the light of things... we'll talk about the bad stuff in a next video.
