Estalla la violencia en Celaya: queman 10 vehículos tras muerte de adolescente de 16 años

The death of Agustín, a 16-year-old boy who was shot in the head in the community of Gasca, in the municipality of Celaya, sparked intense social mobilization that resulted in road blockades, vehicle fires, and clashes with state security forces. Family members and residents pointed to state police officers as the alleged perpetrators of the crime, an accusation rejected by authorities. The protest began on the Celaya-Juventino Rosas highway, where hundreds of people demanded an investigation and the arrest of those responsible. As the hours passed, tensions escalated, and some protesters set fire to a bus, eight private vehicles, and a motorcycle, keeping the road closed for approximately six hours. The Secretary of Security and Peace of Guanajuato, Juan Mauro González, asserted that the state police officers were only present to secure the scene and denied any involvement in the young man's death. Meanwhile, the State Attorney General's Office launched the corresponding investigations.
