Hi, everyone. Jesse here with etrailer. Today we will be taking a look at and I'll show you how to install the Curt Custom-Fit Tail Light Wiring for Towed Vehicles on our 2020 Jeep Gladiator. There's gonna be five main components to look into whenever setting up your vehicle to be flat towed. Starting with our base plate, that's gonna be the structural mounting point for which, really everything else is gonna connect to the towed vehicle. Then we have our tow bar, which is the physical link between motor home and towed vehicle. We have our diode wiring, and that's there to keep you safe and legal out there on the road by sending a signal from the lights on the motor home to the taillights on the towed vehicle to get those to function properly. Then we have our braking system. This is going to allow you to not just rely on the brakes of the motor home, but also utilize the brakes on the towed vehicle to come to those safe stops. And last we have our safety cables. These are here in case of a catastrophic disconnect. If something in our kit we inchesre to fail, these will hold everything together so you can get pulled over safely to the side of the road. There are a few more components that you may need to get your vehicle ready to be flat towed, and that really just depends on your vehicle and your setup. For example, our neighbor today opted to get a Curt Battery Charger+ system. And what that's gonna do is send a trickle charge from the motor home to the vehicle while you're towing it. And that's just going to eliminate having to stop every once in a while on long road trips to get the vehicle charged up, and also just eliminate the chance of having a dead battery once you arrive at the campsite. Also, our neighbor got a Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking system. And to get that to work, you need to install a 12-volt outlet kit. So we installed the Curt RVibrake 12-volt outlet kit to send power to that. So I'd understand, whenever setting up your vehicle to be flat towed, it can be a lot to kind of get your head wrapped around. So reach out to us. We deal with these all the time and we'd be happy to help you out. This is custom-fit, so that means that there's no splicing or anything of your factory wiring. You're just simply gonna have two plugs that will plug into one end of your factory taillight wiring and then into the other end. So that eliminates some of the hassle that people have setting up diodes. And this kit has those diodes built into the wiring, so that'll prevent any damage from your factory wiring from back feeds or anything else like that. This kit's gonna come with all of the wiring and connectors that you need in the back. And then you also have wiring to run up to the front of the vehicle, but it's gonna come with a 4-pole plug spliced on that. And really any modern flat tow, you're not gonna use that because of having that need for the 6-pole for your charge line like our neighborhood had installed. So we opted to just cut that 4-pole end off, that's perfectly fine, and then spliced in a Blue Ox 6-pole on the front of our vehicle. That's about all there is to it. And when it comes to the installation with this kit, as I said, it is easier than some of your more standard diodes because you don't have to do that splicing, but you're most likely installing other flat tow components at the same time, so I'd understand if you're not trying to do all of that yourself, check out our Installer Locator. You can find someone local to you that would be happy to get you set up. If you are looking to see how this gets installed, then follow along and I'll walk you through the process. We'll begin our installation by kind of laying everything out and just familiarizing ourselves with what is gonna go where. So the end of our bare wire here with the 4-pole, that's gonna go up to the front of the vehicle, which at this point, what I'm gonna do is just cut off the 4-pole because we're actually gonna use a 6-pole connection. So if you're not using a 6-pole, then just leave that on there. But that's gonna make it easier to route our wires. And then our first T-connector here, I know this is the driver's side, because it has yellow and brown wires on it, so that'll eventually be routed up into our driver's side taillight. And then
