Every street has several rows of reserved two-wheeler parking spaces, sidewalk parking is common practice, and at least 50 percent of the traffic is dominated by scooters. The XMax is no rarity there either. After all, Italy is largely responsible for the fact that more than 450,000 units of the XMax have been sold worldwide in its various displacement classes since 2005. Starting in June, the latest development of the XMax 300, classified by Yamaha as a "premium sports scooter," will be available at dealerships and, for an additional charge of €700, will be available again as the better-equipped Tech Max. It differs primarily from the XMax, which features a simpler, but also new, LCD display, in its 4.3-inch TFT color display and real-time map navigation. The Tech Max has a more sophisticated overall appearance thanks to details like the leather-trimmed seat and the redesigned aluminum footplates. The mounts for the adjustable windshield and the rearview mirror stems are also made of the more stable lightweight metal on the Tech Max. The most important difference, however, is the built-in navigation system, which is based on a Garmin solution and, unlike the Yamaha TMAX, for example, is available at no additional monthly cost. While its functionality is limited to point-to-point navigation, this is certainly sufficient for local use. This is interesting, for example, for courier services that constantly have to navigate to new destinations and don't want to leave their smartphone unattended on the scooter. However, the ability to quickly enter the next destination via voice command is a given in this case. #yamahamotor #xmax300
