RubyBlue - That’s What Girls Do

Track 1 from the unreleased debut album "Beyond Pink" by RubyBlue. Formed by music producers The Berman Brothers and Jeff Coplan in response to the success of bands like Hanson and The Moffatts, RubyBlue consisted of lead singer and bass player Alexis Krauss, lead guitarist Jayme-lyn Amoscato, guitarist Alice Tai, and drummer Candy Paulino. The band was signed to Edel America and toured with labelmate Dream Street. Even though they released one single and were set to release their debut album, internal and financial issues with their label and management led to their album being scrapped, and the group would split not too long after. Krauss would later achieve success with the indie rock duo Sleigh Bells. Scheduled to be released in March 2002, the band's debut album, "Beyond Pink," would feature involvement from The Berman Brothers and Jeff Coplan, who produced all of the tracks. 6 of the 12 tracks would also feature a co-write from at least one of RubyBlue's members. Because of issues going on with their label, the album was never given a proper release, although some copies of it can be found secondhand. "That's What Girls Do" was released as the band's debut single. It was featured on the soundtrack of the 2002 film "The Biggest Fan", starring Dream Street, which also featured their songs "Run Away" and "Fallen For You". The song would later be made famous by the American girl group No Secrets. © 2001 Edel America Records, BAB Music Written by: Nina Osoff and Richie Supa Produced by: The Berman Brothers and Jeff Coplan
