Inmates are given sticks!?!? Gang Culture Behind Bars In The Philippines | American Reacts

Today I’m reacting to “Gang Culture Behind Bars | Ashley Cain: Into the Danger Zone” from BBC Three. This one was a serious culture shock for me. I’ve watched a lot of videos about the Philippines at this point, but this is a very different side of the country than music, food, family, or tourism. Seeing inside a Philippines jail and hearing about gang culture behind bars was intense, uncomfortable, and honestly pretty hard to process at times. As an American, I’m trying to understand what I’m seeing without pretending I fully understand the system, the history, or the social realities behind it. This is one of those videos where my reaction is less about judgment and more about trying to make sense of something that feels very far outside my normal frame of reference. What Philippines documentary or culture video should I watch next?
