Defending Champion 318 Rob Speak was unable to mount any serious pressure on Wainman, having gone for a big lunge on 445 Nigel Green at the start of the race.. 4 Dan Johnson took the lead for a few laps, but appeared to feel under pressure, as Wainman was closing in on the race leader.. Johnson caught a backmarker, but not in the way he would have liked, bursting his front outside tyre.. 150 Mick Sworder looked to be on a real charge, but caught a spun 37 Chris Cowley, and his car suffered some damage, which then saw the 150 pilot loosing ground.. 217 Lee Fairhurst claimed in the H231 Daniel Van Spijker owned car..
