RANGE ROVER EVOQUE P300e – Premium Plug-in Hybrid SUV – Spectacular Design – High Price and Consumption - #ZeroLabel Unboxing the 2021 Range Rover Evoque The Range Rover Evoque arrives on Arrancamos!?, your leading channel for the automotive world, with a new version that aims to please everyone: the P300e, or in other words, a Plug-In, PHEV, or Plug-in Hybrid version, to please those who don't want to spend a drop of gas from Monday to Friday but don't want a second car for their weekend getaways or vacations. With just over 300 hp, but also weighing more than two tons (2,157 kilos), the Evoque continues to captivate with its design and lines, although inside, clearly, all that glitters is not gold. Don't miss a single comma of what we're reporting here: Arrancamos!? We're not going to dispute the Evoque's spectacular nature. It's a car that very few can honestly say they don't like. It's a car with an incredible design, one that truly captivates you at first glance and never lets go. However, beyond that, we find highly debatable elements, such as a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that, yes, produces over 200 hp, but those who are somewhat fussy about the cylinders will balk at it, even if its performance is consistent. As a premium car, and especially with top-tier technology, we also understand that the price shouldn't be low. The starting price for a 150 hp front-wheel-drive model is €40,000. Understandable to a certain extent. Considering a few things, the fact that our model costs €66,600 becomes more debatable, especially when the GLA, which is very similar in every way, is considerably more rational with a more accessible price. Of course, the Evoque is still a Range Rover, our tester with Terrain Response II and M+S footwear, although on wet grass on a slope, almost everyone ends up slipping. The management of the 15 kWh battery complies with the homologation requirement, which requires a minimum of 40 kilometers in electric mode to obtain the Zero label, but it doesn't allow for much more joy, despite the brand's official 55 kilometers with a top speed without the combustion engine of 135 km/h. The transitions are silent, and the truth is, it doesn't get along badly with the 3-cylinder, although on paper many may have doubts. The more than 100 hp of the electric section add up to 300 of the combined engine, although I promise you I haven't been able to feel them at any point... and yet it averages 9.3 on the highway at 120 km/h, which scares even many who claim to drive fast. We're not going to skimp on efforts in terms of safety, technology, and interior design, including all the usual gadgets, although the upholstery hasn't been our favorite. The dashboard, steering wheel, screens, and so on are all very good, although whoever designed the on-board computer menu should be condemned to using it for the rest of their life, wasting time on silly functions that should be more accessible. We also sometimes miss a few light shifts to make the sometimes lazy shifting more effective. Although our impression of the engine is less powerful than the figures suggest, we note that it's rated at 540 Nm of torque and takes 6.4 seconds to reach 100 km/h from a standstill. That may be true, but if you check these figures often, your fuel consumption will undoubtedly reach 20 liters per 100 km/h. The battery recharges in a wall box in just over three and a half hours, since, as we said, its capacity is limited. Driving, the weight and pronounced roll on winding roads are noticeable. The 20-inch wheels are as superlative and beautiful as they are unnecessary. The light signature couldn't be more beautiful, playing effectively with the LEDs. Note the 21 centimeters of ground clearance when in off-road mode, with an approach angle of 25 degrees, a 30.6 degree departure angle, and a breakover angle of 18.5 degrees. Spectacular performance figures for off-road terrain, Land Rover's pedigree certainly compels. Up to 53 centimeters of wading depth. On the "Would I buy it" scale, the Range Rover Evoque P300e S scores 6.7. It's a beautiful, spectacular, incredible car that turns heads, especially in this Firenze Red color and these wheels. But it doesn't make much sense because of fuel consumption and range figures that undermine the effort to put a car with the best technology on the road.
