Today, we're covering the installation of the new BullTron lithium batteries with a capacity of 2 x 165 Ah, totaling a whopping 330 Ah. This equates to 4,224 Wh. The motorhome's self-sufficiency is restored! The video turned out longer and more comprehensive than planned. Among other things, I demonstrate the parallel cross-connection to treat two lithium batteries as a single unit. Charging tests are performed using the Victron solar charge controller, the Victron battery charger, and the smart alternator, along with the vehicle battery. Is a charge booster needed, or is it unnecessary? And as a special bonus, there's a detailed cost overview compared to the quote from my motorhome dealer. How much did I actually save? Perhaps even in terms of weight? These days, money isn't always so readily available. And you have to think carefully about whether and how many thousands of euros you want to spend. If you do it yourself, you can save a lot of money. And as a hobbyist, I'll show you that you can definitely tackle a project, even one involving lithium batteries (LiFePO4). What I demonstrate is something almost anyone can do. It's especially easy if you can use the manufacturer's existing infrastructure. That way, you don't need to lay any additional cables or worry about the installation positions. In the end, I actually managed it; the installation and commissioning were successful.
