In this video I demonstrate how to play the song Man In The Box by Alice In Chains. Jerry Cantrell is a wizard in making dark, broody heavy guitar licks and this is by far one of his most well known licks in his catalogue. Featured not the Alice In Chains 1991 debut album Facelift. It peaked at 18 on the Billboard charts and was nominated for a Grammy for best hard rock performance. The song features some excellent riffle from Cantrell with some heavy tones produced with a cry baby pedal and Jerrry's signature overdriven sound. There is a lot to learn in the notes and phrasing utilized in this guitar performance. It is a prime example of ghost bends, wah wah usage, trills and alternate chord voicings.
