Laboratorij slave 2013. Andrea Gelemanović "Tko sam ja?"

Andrea Gelemanović, pobjednica Laboratorija slave 2013, dolazi nam iz predivnog grada Samobora. Andrea Gelemanović lives in the beautiful town of Samobor in Croatia. She is a graduate student of Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. She has always loved science, especially biology and during her study she has discovered that she is mainly interested in the areas of microbiology, anthropology, evolution and forensic science. She is currently working on her master's thesis in which she wants to confirm findings of rheumatoid arthritis in human bone specimens dated from the Middle Ages. For the past two years I have also been exploring the distribution of one specific species of Copepoda, Eudiaptomus hadzici, at the Department of Zoology at her university. In addition to her university, she has had practice in many different laboratories such as the Institute of Immunology, the Institute for Anthropological Research and the Forensic Science Centre „Ivan Vucetic". For the past three years she has been involved in an event called „A Night of Biology". The event is trying to make biology more interesting and understandable to the general public, and in 2012 every participating student received a special Rector's award. Her other great love is classical ballet which she has been practising for the last 19 years. She has also finished music high school as a pianist, and for the last four years has been working as a synthesizer teacher in Samobor.
