Well, In this video, I will show you how to remove and replace your heater core on your 1998 Cadillac DeVille D'elegance . It doesn't require special tools, this is not a usual fix, and in fixing it you're going to be working on your back a lot. you'll find that it's easier to look at the parts if you have a mirror. watch the whole video first before you work on your car so you can have a clear understanding on what to do. when mechanics won't tell you is that it's pretty easy to do. the dealer wanted to charge me around $1,000 to do this. the heater core only cost me twenty bucks and two bottles of antifreeze. Of course do your due diligence on the safety. Just make sure if you're working on your car, that you're that your engine is cooled down, once you take out your heater core, there will be some water so have some towels handy, maybe even some plastic and line the passenger side of your car in case you spill. Same thing on the outside of the car, they'll be some slight spillage. All these repairs can be done yourself. Again look at the video 2 or 3 times so you can develop your confidence. It doesn't take any fancy tools. Just some good ol US know how, and some tenacity.
