Seihaku Festival's Float Procession (Dekayama) Nationally Designated Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property A magnificent festival that colors the spring of Nanao. Held in May when the young leaves are sprouting, this spring festival of the Daijinushi Shrine (Sanno Shrine) is the grandest festival in Noto. The main attraction, the floats (hikiyama), are enormous, standing 12 meters tall and weighing 20 tons, with wheels 2 meters in diameter. The spectacle of them turning around, their wheels creaking, is a highlight. On the 4th, they gather at Daijinushi Shrine, and on the 5th, they are gathered near the Noto Shokusai Market and Sentai Bridge.
