Relics of a Lost Age | Aurisuchians of Arum | pseudosuchians of Karun
Before Karun was dominated by non avian dinosaurs, an entirely different group of reptiles ruled this primordial world. On Earth, there is only one group pseudosuchians left, the crocodilians. But in past times, this clade was much more diverse. On Karun, a few strange clades developed, summarized under the term neopseudosuchia. One group of these neopseudosuchians are the aurisuchia, a group of pseudosuchian descendants widespread on Karun and competing with the dinosaurs in many places. This maybe unexpected group of eared archosaurs is a great reminder of a lost past age on Karun, the age of neopseudosuchians. Karun is an Earth-like exoplanet in a distant solar system, claimed by organisms from Earth brought there over the course of millions of years by a once grand extraterrestrial civilization now gone for an unknown reason. Their motivation remains unknown, whether it was because of interplanetary trade, scientific purposes or simply preserving creatures threatened on their home world, giving them a second chance on Karun. Left behind is an anachronistic mix of animals, ancient and modern, as well as humans, forced to coexist and evolve in this new context.
