Lou grew up in an environment where alcohol was omnipresent. Her mother spent her evenings in bars, her father drank often, and at a very young age, she found herself dealing with situations that were beyond her years. At 20, she found her father dead, alone, after years of struggling with alcoholism. This event had a profound impact on her. Today, she is speaking out to break the silence surrounding alcoholism. She wants to remind people that it is an illness, not a shameful thing, and that more support is needed for those who suffer from it.
