The Lilliputters' Ringing Tour Day 5-Friday 4th August 2017

The final day of the Lilliputters' Ringing Tour 2017 sees us heading further north of Dorset. The first tower was Bryanston-a nice warner 6 with 2 whitechapel trebles added in 1995. Here you can hear the touch of 8 spliced of the week. The second tower was Blandford Forum- a lovely 1882 19cwt taylor 8. Here you can hear part of 3 leads of Bristol S Major. The third tower of the day was a rare ring of 4 in Shaftesbury-Cann. An interesting ring of bells cast by Naylor, Vickers & Co of which 1 and 3 were cast in 1861 and 2 and 4 were cast in 1863. A rare grab. Here you will hear some rounds and plain hunt on 4. The fourth tower of the day was Fontmell Magma- a mixed founder 6. Here you will hear some Cambridge S Minor inside. We could go out the top of the tower and got some good views-some photos shown. The final tower of the tour took us to Iwerne Minster-a mixed founder 6 that sound lovely. Here you will hear some Cambridge S Minor inside and some Grandsire Doubles outside. A very successful tour brought to an end. Thanks to everyone for coming and to the organisers.
