Art of the Ancient Americas

ART OF THE ANCIENT AMERICAS For this section of the course, we will be examining the art of indigenous peoples of the Americas and Africa. People have lived in the Americas dating back tens of thousands of years. Throughout North and South America, many different cultures flourished over the millennia. Some cultures, like some groups living in the Great Plains of North America, were nomadic and produced art that was small and portable. Other cultures, such as the Maya and Aztecs in Mesoamerica and the Inca in South America, constructed vast empires. These cultures created complex and large-scale architecture and art befitting the vastness and complexity of their civilizations. VOCABULARY LIST This is a list of important vocabulary words for.
