As he approached, God called to him from the bush, revealing His plan to rescue the Israelites from Egypt and appointing Moses as the leader. Moses hesitated, doubting his ability and authority. To reassure him, God asked, “What is that in your hand?” Moses replied, “A rod.” God told him to throw it down, and it became a serpent—then back to a rod—demonstrating God’s power. Despite further doubts, God promised to help Moses and sent his brother Aaron to assist.
