Gaumukh Tapovan Solo Trek | Gangotri To Tapovan | 2 Day | 48km | Hiking to Himalayas
Share your thoughts—DM me on Instagram: / thesoloakash Join me on an epic 2-day, 48 km solo hike to the legendary Gaumukh Tapovan. the stunning birthplace of the sacred River Ganga amidst the breathtaking Himalayas! This adventure-packed vlog covers: itinerary, raw stories from the trail, camping tips, beautiful scenery, and inspiring moments of solitude and challenge. Gaumukh Trek is a 48 km trek in the big mountains of Uttarakhand, India. It starts and ends at Gangotri, a famous holy town. You walk all the way to Gaumukh, the place where the River Ganga begins, and then to Tapovan—a beautiful meadow high in the Himalayas. To camp or hike here, you need special permission from Gangotri National Park. You must get the permits before your trek. There are park checkposts along the way—if you don’t have permission, you cannot go ahead. I have experience trekking in the Himalayas, and I did this trek solo in just 2 days. It was tough but amazing! Walking alone in the high mountains taught me a lot, but it was also very hard. Be careful: I do not recommend doing this trek in only 2 days unless you already have experience with tough, high-altitude trekking. The trek is difficult and the air is thin. Most people need 3–4 days for this route. Go slow, enjoy the views, and stay safe. Always listen to local advice and be ready for bad weather or emergencies. 0:00 – Intro 1:55 – Trek Start Point 4:05 Chidbasa – Forest & River Views 8:10 Bhojbasa – Camps and Rest Stop 4:25 Gaumukh Glacier – Source of Ganga 19:40 Tapovan – High Altitude Meadow 20:30 Night at Tapovan 21:40 Moni Baba’s Ashram & Meeting Maharaj Ji at Tapovan 26:25 Trek Completion & Reflections If you want to know more, ask me on Instagram: / thesoloakash
