Alcohol Ink Earrings - Full Alcohol Ink Tutorial Plus Free Designs
Alcohol ink is a very versatile medium and great fun to use (as long as you have rubber gloves!). Back in 2016, I made a video about an alcohol ink technique I had created to make pendants with. In 2017, I made another video about alcohol ink pendants. As it's been a while since I played with alcohol inks, I decided to try my original alcohol ink technique that I did with aluminum foil, on a different substrate. And that is what this video is about. I wanted to make some alcohol ink earrings this time so I could show off the lovely effects that the alcohol ink had. Making alcohol ink earrings is a fantastic way for anyone to explore being creative without worrying about lack of artistic skills. You really can't go wrong with this technique, as you will see. You can get the loveliest earrings out of an alcohol ink creation that doesn't look that great as a whole picture. People who are new to alcohol ink painting may be tempted to throw their creations away or feel discouraged by the way they look, BUT, if you follow this tutorial all the way through, you will see how the most random, seemingly unattractive paintings come alive when you focus on tiny areas to cut out to create your earrings. I absolutely love alcohol inks and really enjoyed making this third video using a slightly different approach and a different substrate. Alcohol inks can be very messy, so you need to wear rubber gloves. The alcohol inks are strong smelling so you need good ventilation and a mask over nose and mouth. You also need to cover your work surfaces to prevent unwanted staining. While making this tutorial, I made eight pairs of alcohol ink earrings and I still have enough leftover alcohol paintings scraps to make lots more, just from one alcohol ink session. If you like these alcohol ink earrings but either don't want to buy the inks, or, perhaps can't get them, you can get my free printable alcohol ink paintings from my website and use them to recreate the earrings you see here. Details are on my website https://www.funcraftstodoathome.com You can buy the earring shape stencil/template here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/97566...
