At first, the symptoms were only subtle: Rebekka Knoblich occasionally felt dizzy, had recurring headaches, and chest and joint pain. Singing was also becoming increasingly difficult for the frontwoman of the band Lokomotor. When her feet began to swell in 2019, Rebekka Knoblich suspected that there must be a specific cause behind her numerous symptoms. After several years of uncertainty, the result emerged: systemic lupus, a rare autoimmune disease that attacks various organs in the body. In Rebekka Knoblich's case, her kidneys were severely affected by the disease. So severely that the singer's life was in serious danger.
