You Are The Everything, by R.E.M.
Peter Buck bought a mandolin some time after Document was released in 1987 as he was keen to experiment with different instruments and get away from playing just the electric guitar. You Are The Everything, off 1988's Green, was, I suspect, one of the first songs he wrote on the instrument. A couple of years later he would go on to use the mandolin to write arguably their best known song, Losing My Religion. It's a very simple but a very beautiful song with just the mandolin, a very simple bass guitar part and the accordion creating the soundscape for Stipe's vocals. An easy but fun one to play.
