Lost Verdania - Hollow Knight: Silksong Piano Cover

I think this is some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard, yet I can't do it justice on piano no matter how hard I tried. The orchestration is perfect, and that alone is hard to translate to one instrument in mix of voicing and rhythms. For a significant amount of the piece I'm playing 3 parts, the bass in the left, ostinato in the right, and either a hemiola or melody being shared by both hands. Probably the hardest piece I ever learned that wasn't difficult technique-wise. Between the voicing spread across the piano, the multiple rhythms, and ever-changing time signature it took much longer than I thought. The music jumps between 7/8, 4/4, 6/8, and 9/8, never settling on a predictable rhythm. Layered into that the strings and percussion share essentially zero commonalities with two musical phrases playing, one in duple meter and the other in triple meter. The bass/chord progression shifts whenever it wants. Its like a waltz with a dancer that is stumbling without his partner. Yet it is so seamless one not familiar with the music most likely wouldn't detect any of these abnormalities. Christopher Larkin is a musical genius. This was a tough one to edit, I had to slightly tweak the tempo post recording (I was done after weeks of trying to get a good take), and the softwares I use don't play back the music and visuals at the same speed in microseconds, so I have to manually adjust the timing when aligning them in editing. Consequently visuals and sounds are slightly desynced in certain spots, but I'm assuming the majority of viewers won't catch that. Maybe as the artist I demand too much perfection of my self.
