If, as an installer, you come into contact with these gases (e.g., during leak testing, recovery, installation, maintenance, servicing, repair, or decommissioning), be sure to obtain a personnel certificate for F-Gas certification. This document confirms that you meet the requirements for professional work on a specific equipment group. You must obtain a personnel certificate if: you are an employee of a company on whose behalf you are installing, maintaining, servicing, repairing, or decommissioning equipment containing ODS or F-Gas; you are a sole proprietor and will be physically performing activities on equipment containing ODS or F-Gas; you work on your own equipment and only for your own needs; You perform leak testing, recovery, installation, repair (including maintenance or servicing), and decommissioning of refrigeration units in trucks and refrigerated trailers containing fluorinated greenhouse gases. If you run a business, obtain both a personnel certificate and an entrepreneur certificate. This allows you to perform services for third parties (not just for your own company). Conditions You will obtain a personnel certificate for F-gas certification if: you are at least 18 years old, you have not been convicted of a crime against the environment, you pass the theoretical and practical exams. Remember that if you already have a certificate issued by another EU country, then – in accordance with the principles of freedom to provide services and freedom of establishment – ​​you can use it in Poland. You can use this document if you obtain a certified translation into Polish. The Office of Technical Inspection also issues certificates for fire protection systems or electrical switchboards containing ODS or F-gases. What does the F-Gas exam look like? To apply for the certificate, take an exam that will assess your professional preparedness. You can also participate in optional preparatory training before taking the exam. ODEKA SIMP is the designated entity to conduct these activities. Before taking the exam, also verify your knowledge and skills related to the certificate. You will find out if you can take the exam without training. Exams are held at least every two months and consist of two parts: theoretical (multiple-choice test) and practical. F-Gas certification for businesses dealing with refrigeration and air conditioning equipment (ODS and F-Gas)? Do you have a business that involves ODS and F-Gas?
