Shelly Kagan: Death education is not a taboo topic!
Death is a taboo topic in many countries, including China, although everyone knows we will all die one day. The course on death run by Professor Shelly Kagan at Yale University examines a number of issues that arise once we begin to reflect on our own mortality, including the afterlife, body and soul and religion. With regard to religion in human life, Kagan said it keeps people satisfied; yet it sometimes has a negative impact. In addition, religion plays an important role in teaching and spreading views about dignity.
