La Gallina (The Hen) Op. 53 Danse Cubaine - Louis Moreau Gottschalk 1859 Piano Solo

La Gallina (The Hen) Op. 53 - Louis Moreau Gottschalk Time for more Gottschalk! This one is "La Gallina" which translates into "The Hen" in Spanish, composed around 1859. The piano imitates the sounds of the hen clucking and scratching throughout and is subtitled "Danse Cubaine". Gottschalk's works were heavily influenced by syncopated Louisiana Creole and Caribbean music and is one of the earliest instances of this in classical music, a precursor to ragtime and jazz a few decades later. This piece was commissioned by Bill Thompson who has a dedicated, Gottschalk resource website here: http://thompsonian.info/gottschalk.html ☕ If you enjoyed this video or have made use of my piano accompaniment tracks, consider supporting me over on my Ko-fi page: https://ko-fi.com/christinapepper You can leave a tip, commission me to record piano solos or accompaniment, buy digital music, CD's, and sheet music in my shop, or join my new monthly membership tiers! 💲 Drop a dollar or two into my Virtual Tip Jar on Venmo: @Christina-Austin-Piano 📘 Follow me on Facebook here!   / christinapepperpiano   📸 Instagram:   / pepper_thyme   🧵 Threads: https://www.threads.net/@pepper_thyme 🟢 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/0aTKR... #kofitheme #piano #pianomusic #classicalpiano #pianosolo
