AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE ONLINE http://www.phoenixsts.ie/evacuation-a... The Ski Pad allows non-ambulant (immobile) patients or residents to be quickly and safely evacuated in event of an emergency. In an emergency speed and time are vital elements in rapid evacuation, the Ski Pad is widely accepted as a vital evacuation aid, it is ideal for use in hospitals and within residential and social care units such as nursing homes as well as many other environments such as schools, offices, hotels etc… where non-ambulant people (such as wheelchair users) require assistance to evacuate from a building. It is relatively easy to transfer a wheelchair user from their wheelchair onto a Ski Pad requiring no direct lifting. The Ski Pad has been designed for use in confined areas with limited space such as buildings with narrow corridors or single width fire doors. The Ski Pad is easily removed from its own wall mounted wipe clean storage bag in an emergency by pulling the velcro flap. The person is quickly transferred to the Ski Pad and secured in place with seatbelt style straps. While being moved the person is protected by a 50mm thick foam pad. The tough, slippery, vinyl coated base means that the Ski Pad moves easily over indoor and outdoor surfaces so the individual can be safely and quickly evacuated. The Ski Pad can be manufactured individually for the varying requirements of customers.
