SATO 48 2026 - Contamination Protocol

After a harrowing escape from Planet X, the captain of the SS Clinkenjaw and his crewmate struggle to make their way home on their broken down ship. As the captain works to fix their ship, he slowly realizes the nghtmare may not have been left behind. This award winning film was made in 48 hours as part of the Springfield and the Ozarks (SATO) 48 hour film challenge. The following criteria were included in the "Inspiration Package", and had to be followed for our film to be eligible for any awards. Invent a Conflict Worth the Fight The central CONFLICT is between your Leading Character and Supporting Character over an invented topic NOT drawn from any existing hot-button issue, debate, controversy, or conflict. That CONFLICT must be portrayed for at least one consecutive minute through physical action only, using no words of any kind, spoken, written, or otherwise. An invented artifact closely associated with the CONFLICT is shown in at least one close-up. One character decisively prevails when the other character changes their belief, decision, behavior, or course of action. Even Teams: Leading Character prevails. Odd Teams: Supporting Character prevails. PROHIBITION Prevailing is NOT ALLOWED through injury, threat of injury, death, or the use or brandishing of any weapon.
