If you cannot visit in person right now, join me in this video to take virtual blessings! 📜 The Rich History of Kadhadham (Kara Dham) Kadhadham is not just a place of worship; it is steeped in ancient Indian history and mythology: The 51 Shaktipeeths: According to the Skanda Purana, when Lord Shiva was carrying the body of Goddess Sati, Lord Vishnu used his Sudarshan Chakra to part her body. It is firmly believed that Sati's right hand (Kar) fell at this exact location. The word "Kar" later evolved into "Kara" and eventually "Kada". The Holy Pond: Inside the temple's sanctum sanctorum sits the idol of Maa Sheetla Devi, and right in front of it is a sacred, divine pond (Kund) marking the spot where her hand fell. The Mahabharata Connection: Legend has it that during the Dwapar Yuga, the eldest Pandava brother, Maharaj Yudhishthira, came to this sacred site during their exile. He established a magnificent temple here and also installed the Mahakaleshwar Shivling at the nearby Naga Ashram.
