Located at the foot of the famous Mt. Chokai, in a spring-filled village, Yuza Distillery produces Yamagata's first Japanese whiskey. "We want to deliver a whiskey that the world will adore"... That aspiration became a reality in 2022. Yuza Distillery's first release, "YUZA First Edition 2022," won a gold medal at the global spirits competition, ISC. We spoke with Masaharu Sasaki, president of Yuza Distillery, and others about the craftsmanship that went into making this whiskey. We'll also hear from Goto Mitsuru of Yuza Town's BAR BLUCE CATS, Suzuki Katsuhito of Tsuruoka's BAR ChiC, and Domon Manabu of Sakata's BAR ESTAR! about the appeal of the whiskey produced at Yuza Distillery.
