That's what this video is about. I start with the number most aspirants avoid looking at, but every rational person needs to know before they begin - of the roughly 10 lakh people who apply each year, only about 109 finally clear, and even then, only around 180 of those go on to become IAS officers. The funnel is so small it's almost a lottery ticket - and the real danger is spending five, six, seven years of your life and your family's money buying that same ticket again and again, when self-awareness should have told you to stop. So this video does two things. First, I lay out the strong, respectable alternatives that exist alongside or instead of the IAS with the actual pay scales for each. Second, and more importantly, I talk honestly about when to walk away. I explain why two genuine attempts are enough to know and why getting trapped in endless attempts can leave you not just unemployed but unemployable. The skills you built preparing - discipline, structured writing, communication - are genuinely valuable in the real world if you take the decision at the right time.
