Let's Build: shieldXL (norns clone)

shieldXL is a spin on the open source norns shield (originally by monome); remixed by denki-oto. It's a Raspberry Pi-based playground for algorithmic music, programmable with Lua. I ended up getting the shieldXL over the norns since the shieldXL has hardware MIDI, but I'm having so much fun with the shieldXL that I might get an official norns for the higher build-quality and built-in battery. The only real trouble I ran into during the build was the cable for the display - make sure it's seated properly! Otherwise smooth sailing and a super fun device.
