UNJ students and several civil society movements affiliated with the People's Struggle Assembly (MPR) Alliance will hold a demonstration near the Horse Statue in Central Jakarta today, Friday (July 17, 2026) afternoon. According to a poster calling for action distributed via the official Instagram account @aliansiunjmelawan, the demonstration is titled "Motion of No Confidence in the Prabowo-Gibran Regime." "Social inequality, the weakening of civil sovereignty, and crises in various sectors of life are evidence that public trust in the Red and White Cabinet - Prabowo-Gibran is questionable," reads the official statement posted on the account. A representative of the People's Struggle Assembly (MPR) Alliance, Muhammad Annur, confirmed that the protest will begin at 1:00 PM Western Indonesian Time (WIB) near the Horse Statue monument on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta. "Yes, it's true, the demonstration will take place at 1:00 PM. Our colleagues will depart from UNJ, along with student alliances from various campuses and the Civil Society coalition," Annur said when contacted via text message on Friday. However, Annur could not yet confirm how many people would participate in this demonstration. The People's Struggle Council Alliance has three main demands: 1. Restore Civil Society Sovereignty, 2. Completely Dismantle the State System, 3.
